Are you heading to or going through Barcelona on a European land or cruise vacation? We will be heading there in a week or so (trip not open to public but an open, public trip is planned in 2027 as part of a land/cruise tour).
There is so much to see and so many things to do - but if you have only a few days?
There is lots of information out there about Barcelona and it can be overwhelming. For most folks, a hop on/off bus that shows you a snapshot of the major tourist sites is a great first choice. Although I am one to skip some of the tourist touted spots in major cities as underwhelming, the Sagrada Familia is not one of those spots. The experience is unbelievable. Tickets can be hard to come by and are often sold by unscrupulous third-party vendors. Also, you generally can only buy online - very difficult to get tickets at the So, buy early from the official site. https://sagradafamilia.org/en/
The best hacks I have seen were put together by some folks who know Barcelona. You can find these hacks here.
"Ten Things to do in Barcelona" is below. I apologize for the ad that starts the below video. Just skip it. Also, there is some duplication among the two videos below and the TravelKit.
I like what everyone has to say about tips for touring Barcelona. But, for many, taking the hop off/on bus, visiting the Sagrada Familia, and wandering through Barcelona is the best way to see Barcelona. Touring with a checklist of things to see that are "top things to do" in Barcelona, may not be the best way to experience it.
This video is followed by tourist mistakes to avoid in Barcelona - the "mistakes" video is a great one. It highlights the significant problem with pickpockets and, having been in Barcelona a couple of times, I can attest to this after having seen others being victimized.
Above all, enjoy and embrace Barcelona!
